Masters 2017 live: Sergio Garcia beats Justin Rose in a dramatic playoff to win his first ever major championship

Sergio Garcia beat Justin Rose in a dramatic play-off for the Masters on Sunday, to win his first ever major championship.
Rose had overturned an early three-stroke deficit to lead by a shot after 16 holes, but bogeyed the 17th and then failed to convert a birdie attempt from seven feet on the last.
That left Garcia with a putt to win his first major title at the 74th attempt, but his putt from five feet slid past the hole and left the Ryder Cup team-mates tied on nine under par.
However Garcia held his nerve to win the play-off, on the day that Spanish golfing great Seve Ballesteros would have celebrated his 60th birthday.

Fowler (-4)

Those fans could end up disappointed: Rickie has just bogeyed the fourth and fifth in quick succession. He's back down to -4.
Hagestad (+6)
We have our first winner of the evening!
Stewart Hagestad wins the Silver Cup for the lowest amateur after a very respectable round of 73, his joint lowest of the weekend, to finish +6.
And what an eventful afternoon for the U.S. Mid-Am champion, who works in real estate when he's not knocking a small white ball around a golf course. He made two superb birdies at the 13th and 14th before bogeying the 16th, but the highlight of his round has to be a terrific birdie at the 10th, with the amateur holding his nerve to hole an absolute monster putt from the middle of the green.
Top stuff.
Rose (-5)
A disappointing time on the green for the principal chaser. Rose's approach shot is all well and good, a little short but landing on the very front of the green. His third shot - a long putt - is even better, taking him to within 13ft of the hole.
But he then rolls his par putt short, which means he has to settle for a bogey. It moves him down to -5. Garcia now has a three shot lead.
Westwood (-2)
Is Lee on the charge? A bogey on the third moves him back to level par but the Englishman has birdied the seventh and the ninth and is back to -2.
Ernie Els, who finished his 23rd Masters at 20 over, has been speaking to the media. "This tournament was just not for me," he said. No kidding.

This tournament was just not for me. I've won a lot of events around the world, but this one just eluded me. And that's fine.
The negative was just my play was atrocious. That's the hard part to take.
Garcia (-8) & Rose (-6)
Rose has pulled a shot back! My word what an incredible shot off the tee at Juniper, one of the finest we've seen thus far this Sunday. He drops the ball 4ft shy of the pin and rolls in the birdie putt with no trouble. Nicely done, Justin. Once again, he's two off the lead.
Garcia's tee shot was perfectly weighted but his accuracy was a little off, the ball landing way over to the left of the green. It's a tough green on the sixth hole with the risk of the ball rolling all the way back to the front of the green if you're not careful, but his 40ft putt almost creeps in, leaving an easy tap-in for par.
Westwood (-1)
Vintage Westwood. The big man rattles in two birdies in three holes to give us all the faintest hope that he's about to put together a heroic charge on the back nine — only to then bogey the 10th.
It ain't pretty. His approach shot shoots through the green and ends up in the thicket and he does very well to feather his chip to around 7ft from the pin. It's a fine opportunity to save par, but he rolls his putt past the hole by a few inches and ends up with a bogey. He's back to -1. Could be bad news if you've backed him each way.
Garcia (-8) & Rose (-7)
Garcia saves a par from nowhere after hitting into the sand on the seventh, and maintains his lead when he looked in trouble for the first time. That two-shot lead is quickly cut to one though as Rose follows him in for birdie, and it's game on once again.
Casey (-4) & Kjeldsen (+3)
The good news? Casey birdies the ninth, his second in a row, before making par on the 10th. He's -4 and very much in contention.
The bad news? He hooks his tee shot on the 11th and then belts his approach into the bunker, that guards the right hand face of the green. He'll have to work hard to save par.
