The Wallabies, who have experienced mixed results so far in Japan, are looking to return to the top of Pool D with a victory over their South American opponents.
Although Australia currently find themselves a point behind Fiji, they have a game in hand on the Pacific Islanders and are expected to come through the clash with Uruguay without too much difficulty, with a final win over Georgia enough to take them through to the quarter-finals. 30 minutes
Oh no! Uruguay play from a lineout after turning down the chance off points, and are just starting to build something in attack as Australia win the turnover.
An under-resourced ruck and Australia pounced. Penalty, and the Wallabies clear their lines.
TRY! And just like that, Australia score!
A superb try. It is sparked by a Michael Hooper turnover on halfway, leaving the Uruguay defence short wide on the right as he scoops the ball away from the breakdown.
A pull back pass puts Kurtley Beale into space with ball-in-hand, and Beale draws two defenders and brings Jordan Petaia infield on the switch.
Petaia rides a couple of tackles and gets the ball away to Tevita Kuridrani, who trots over the whitewash to score Australia's third try.
Australia 19-3 Uruguay
36 minutes
Australia's discipline has been poor thus far, with an eighth penalty whistled for by Mathieu Raynal as Uruguay attack.
The Wallabies swiftly win the ball back, though, and a little grubber makes ground down the right. Uruguay will throw the lineout near their own 22.
37 minutes
Stalled, sacked, turnover - solid maul defence from Australia, and they'll feed the scrum.
39 minutes
Uruguay win the ball back and look to build phases, and a kick ahead is well chased, with Jordan Petaia thumped as he lands.
And Uruguay steal the ball! Tomas Inciarte is away!
OR NOT! Ruled out for offside!
Manuel Diana has seen the ball exposed and picked it up quite legally, but he has never established himself behind the hindmost foot, and thus is offside as he moves to grab it, and Inciarte's score is ruled out.
40 minutes
Australia win a turnover as the gong sounds, but Jordan Petaia's fumble ensures they can make nothing of it, and that'll be half-time.
Not the best half for Australia, ill of discipline and loose in possession, but no serious damage done despite two yellow cards.
Three tries thus far, with just one more needed to secure the bonus point, but Michael Cheika will be concerned with how poor his side have been. Scrappy and lacking in quality, and a better side than Uruguay might have taken advantage.
