Formula 1: Lewis Hamilton's photobomb eases tension with Mercedes team-mate Nico Rosberg
The pair have clashed this season but picture helps cool mood
The ongoing feud between Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg cooled after Mercedes posted a picture of Hamilton photobombing the German ahead of the Canadian Grand Prix.
The pair have been sniping at each other this season as their Mercedes team, up until the last race, dominated the opening part of the season.
Hamilton and Rosberg have were team-mates on the karting circuit as teenagers, but that familiarity has not stopped the pair being embroiled in a head-to-head battle to be No 1.
Tension almost reached boiling point in Monte Carlo, after Nico Rosberg appeared to crash on purpose to deny Hamilton the chance at a final lap in qualifying. Hamilton then said he didn't see Rosberg as a 'friend' but as a 'colleague' after they shared the podium barely looking at each other.
But in Canada the two seemed back to their usual selves. Hamilton crashed a photo of Rosberg posing with two fans and Mercedes shared the picture with the caption: "Best... #photobomb... EVER!!! @LewisHamilton @nico_rosberg #F1 #TheMontREALdeal."
Rosberg again finished on the podium but Mercedes didn't win a race for the first time this season, Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo winning the first race of his career.
Hamilton, however, had a day to forget and was forced to retire after his brakes failed.
