Belgian Grand Prix: TV channel and how to watch F1 this weekend

Everything you need to know about the seventh round of the 2020 Formula One season

The first week of a classic Formula One double-header takes place at Spa-Francorchamps as the Belgian Grand Prix stages the seventh round of the 2020 season.

This weekend is the first where the entire 2020 calendar is known, with F1 confirming since the last race in Spain that a 17-round season will finish with races in Turkey, a Bahrain double-header and Abu Dhabi. But with the Italian Grand Prix set to be staged at Monza next weekend, the traditional back-to-back races kick off with plenty to offer.

Spa remains one of the jewels on the calendar, but it has not been a happy hunting ground for Lewis Hamilton, and although he arrives with a 37-point lead over Max Verstappen in the world championship, Red Bull will hope to expose any vulnerability that may lie in the Mercedes.

That’s because Pirelli have switched the tyres back to the softer range of compound that helped Verstappen to victory in the second race at Silverstone last month, and although rain is expected to influence the weekend, the championship leaders may not have it their own way this weekend.

When is it?

The Belgian Grand Prix takes place across 28 - 30 August 2020.

How can I watch it?

All European races will be held behind closed doors, meaning that the only way fans will be able to see the action is on television.

In the UK, Sky Sports continue to hold the exclusive rights for F1, with Channel 4 only able to show the British Grand Prix live as they are restricted to highlights coverage the rest of the year.
