The British wrestler Myroslav Dykun has been banned for two years after testing positive for methamphetamine, UK Anti-Doping said yesterday.

Dykun, who is originally from Ukraine, tested positive for the drug in March and UKAD revealed yesterday that the Greco-Roman wrestler's B sample had come back positive.

Dykun, 29, who won gold in the 2010 Commonwealth Games in the 66kg category, will be banned from the sport until 29 April 2014.

The UKAD chief executive, Andy Parkinson, said: "Our pre-Games prevention programme was put in place to ensure that only clean athletes represent Great Britain and this case proves that the system is working."
