10am Athletics Women's javelin qualifying, followed by the men's 110m hurdles heats at 10.10am and triple jump qualifying at 10.45am.

Cycling: Track Men's keirin round one. Sir Chris Hoy begins his quest to retain his title from Beijing as the Scot looks to go ahead of Steve Redgrave and win his sixth Olympic gold.

Equestrianism: Dressage Team grand prix special final.

10.15am Cycling: Track Women's omnium 3km individual pursuit. World champion Laura Trott attempts to add to her team pursuit gold.

11.30am Triathlon Men's race. The Brownlee brothers, Alistair and Jonny, are both expected to trouble the top end of the field. The elder, world champion Alistair starts as favourite, despite a recent injury-enforced absence.

11.50am Athletics Men's 200m round one. Usain Bolt begins his quest to retain his second gold of the Games, while home interest comes from Christian Malcolm and James Ellington.

1pm Sailing Men's RS:X medal race, with the women's equivalent following at 2pm.

2pm Gymnastics: Artistic Men's parallel bars final, followed by the women's balance beam final at 2.47pm and the men's horizontal bar at 3.37pm.

2.10m Water polo Women's classification match for fifth to eight places including GB taking on Russia.

3pm Synchronised Swimming Duets final. Olivia Federici and Jenna Randall represent Great Britain after coming through qualifying yesterday.

3.30pm Table Tennis Women's team gold-medal match.

4pm Cycling: Track Women's sprint semi-finals. Victoria Pendleton resumes her battle with Australian Anna Meares.

4.10pm Cycling: Track

The women's omnium 10km scratch race begins, ahead of the 500m time trial at 4.50pm.

4.23pm Gymnastics: Artistic Women's floor exercise final.

5pm Men's football Semi-final. Mexico face Japan at Wembley in the opening game, while GB conquerors South Korea take on Brazil at 7.45pm at Old Trafford.

5.25pm Cycling: Track Women's sprint finals.

6pm Cycling: Track Men's keirin final.

6.25pm Wrestling: Greco-Roman Men's 66kg gold medal final, 96kg gold medal final.

7pm Athletics Men's high jump final featuring home hope Robbie Grabarz, while Lawrence Okoye shoulders British expectation in the discus final at 7.45pm.

Hockey Men's pool A: Spain v Great Britain. The hosts look to secure a semi-final spot.

7.55pm Athletics Men's 800m semi-finals, followed by the women's 200m semi-finals at 8.25pm.

9pm Athletics Men's 1500m final, with the women's 100m hurdles final – including Tiffany Porter – at 9.15pm
