The National Football League will block a stunt by adidas that would have handed three rookies a brand new Porsche each.

The German sportswear brand announced they were going to give a custom-painted Porsche 911 Carrera 4s - a car that sells for about £90,000, depending on spec - to the three rookies who run the fastest 40-yard dash times at the draft combine.

According to ESPN, the NFL will not allow the deal to happen - but only because of an existing sponsorship deal between the league and General Motors.

However, adidas has since announced that they will instead give the three fastest players $100,000 each - just about enough to buy a new Porsche with their own money.
