The group of hackers claiming to have breached online security measures at Sony last month have warned the NHS that its computer services are at risk of attack.

In a Twitter posting, Lulz Security said it had emailed the NHS to inform it "of those admin passwords we took months ago". It said it did not intend to steal information or undermine the service's computer operation, stating that it hoped the incident would help the organisation to improve its internet security.

The NHS said no patient information was compromised and only "a very small number of website administrators" were affected.
