Logan Paul: YouTube star will return to vlogging soon, father Greg says after controversial 'suicide forest' video

'What we do with those mistakes, bad judgement or whatever term you give it, is what matters'

Logan Paul, the controversial YouTube star who was criticised after filming a man's dead body, is coming back to the site.

That's according to his father, who has uploaded an Instagram post in which he appears to address the various criticisms made of his son in recent days.

The controversy began when Mr Paul uploaded a video to his channel that was taken in Aokigahara, the Japanese area sometimes referred to as a "suicide forest". While there, he and his friends came across the body of a man who had died by suicide – and Mr Paul was filmed standing next to the corpse and laughing, before uploading the footage to his own YouTube channel.

Since then, Mr Paul posted only a tweet that said he was "taking time to reflect". He made clear that he was posting no vlogs but ended "see you soon".

No videos have been uploaded to his YouTube channel since he posted his apology video, in which he said he was sorry for having filmed the footage at the "suicide forest".

No his father Greg posted an update in which he said that Mr Paul would be returning soon – though didn't say when. The Instagram video included a long discussion of a bus he is working on, but the caption addressed the controversy over Mr Paul's videos more directly.

"LOGAN WILL BE BACK!" he wrote. "SUPER FANS!! BUS UPDATES!

"MISTAKES!! We all screw up. It’s a part of life. Do I agree with everything my boys do. NO! Do I agree with some of the things my friends do? NO! Do they disagree with some things I do? YES!

"Face it folks....... we all f*** up at one time or another. That’s life!! What we do with those mistakes, bad judgement or whatever term you give it, is what matters. I love my boys and I am sooo proud of them!!"

Greg regularly appeals in the videos posted by both of his sons, Jake and Logan. As such, the new statement is as close to an update from inside Mr Paul's camp as has come out since the video from Japan was posted and then quickly removed.

In the time since, rumours have circulated that Mr Paul has been forced to hire expensive security around his house because of the danger the fallout from the video has put him in.
