The Sony XG95, however, has something called a Full Array LED backlight which is much more effective, and it also has effective local dimming. This means that parts of the backlight can be bright while other areas are switched completely off, resulting in amazingly deep black shades and outstanding contrast. Regular LEDs can’t come close to this because they have, at best, several side lights. This TV has multiple backlights across the display.

Pin-sharp pictures

The Sony XG95 also has a sophisticated Picture Processor X1 Ultimate chip, which is smart enough to detect hundreds of different objects onscreen and can adjust the brightness, detail and more to add to the realism. It also means that even when the action onscreen is fast and furious, it stays sharp and bright, too.

TVs often have poor visuals unless you’re sitting front-and-centre as viewing angles deteriorate towards the edges of the screen.
