VISITORS to Mali in West Africa are being warned by the Foreign Office to exercise caution in the capital, Bamako, 'in light of sporadic student demonstrations'. 'Avoid the area north of Mopti, where incidents of armed robbery are reported,' warns the FO's Travel Advice Unit (071-270 4129). Mopti itself and the Dogon region 'give no cause for concern'.
