A RECORD number of cars were carried on ferries from Dover during the first six months of 1993, according to the Dover Harbour Board. An increase of 11 per cent took the number of vehicles beyond 1.3 million. However, the number of passengers travelling through Dover fell by 2.6 per cent, to 8.4 million, due to fewer coach trips.
