UNTIL 12 March Brittany Ferries (0705 751833) is operating its ferry service to Santander in northern Spain from Portsmouth instead of Plymouth.

The company is running mini- cruises departing Portsmouth on a Friday, returning two days later on Sunday. On arrival in Santander passengers have about two hours to visit the port.

The cost of the cruise is pounds 79, including a berth in a four-berth cabin. The price includes pounds 45- worth of dining vouchers for use on the ferry.
