It's easy to get to the Valais and its historic capital Sion from the UK by road, rail or air. The region is about a two-hour drive south of Geneva, making it an ideal fly-drive destination. If , however, you fancy going by rail and seeing a bit of the countryside on the way, you can take the Eurostar to Paris and then take the TGV on to Geneva. From here the train will take you past the shores of Lake Geneva up the Rhône valley to Sion, affording you the most stunning views and changing landscapes. And, of course, trains are a highly efficient and reliable way to travel in Switzerland.
