London City Airport is the cheapest gateway for Berlin. The lowest fare on BA and Lufthansa is pounds 139 return from Heathrow, but Conti-Flug (0171-473 4444) charges pounds 10 less. Only 12 seats are available at this fare for each flight, and visits must include a Saturday night. In Berlin, Conti-Flug serves Templehof airport - closer to the centre than Tegel.
