Click, pack and go: our pick of the week’s deals
After British Airways cabin voted in favour of a strike this week with no indication of when staff might walk out (other than a promise not to strike over Easter), many of you may be feeling uneasy about choosing flights with the flag-carrying airline between now and May.
But if you’re not risk-averse, then Netflights.com is offering a week in the Algarve for £199 per person, including BA flights from Heathrow and seven nights’ self-catering accommodation at the three-star Vale de Carros; valid for departures between 1 April and 31 May. Alternatively, you can get to Tunisia from Gatwick with the airline for just £144 return, booked through Flightcentre.co.uk. The price is valid for travel until 27 March.
While BA may be looking at a slippery slope, you could be looking at the groomed slopes of Banff next month. Canadian Affair ( canadianaffair.com) is offering a week at the ski resort for £479 per person, based on four sharing. The price includes flights from Gatwick or Manchester to Calgary with free ski/board carriage, transfers and seven nights’ room only at the three-star Ptarmigan Hotel Banff; valid for selected departures in March. Closer to home, Inghams ( inghams.co.uk) is offering a week skiing in Andorra for £351 per person. The price includes flights departing Gatwick or Bristol on 7 March, transfers and a weeks’ half board at the three-star Hotel Montane in Arinsal.
If you can get yourself to Austria, Italy or Spain, then campervan rental company Wicked Campers ( wickedcampers.co.uk) is offering seven day’s hire of one of its graffitied two-berth vans for just £1 for selected dates in March.
And if you’re more into walking than driving, Adventura ( adventura.com) has a two-night hiking holiday geared towards solo travellers in the Malvern Hills. Departing on 12 March, the holiday costs £249 including full board accommodation and guided walks.
