Apprentice contestant Luisa Zissman posts video of easyJet air hostess telling family off with toddler standing on seat

An easyJet cabin crew member told a family to make their child sit down in his seat or face a “cleaning bill”, claimed former The Apprentice contestant Luisa Zissman.

The flight attendant, who was working onboard a flight from France to the UK, was filmed telling a family that their young son wasn’t allowed to stand up in his seat during the flight.

The footage, shared on social media by Ms Zissman, who was also on the flight, shows the female cabin crew member saying: “He needs to stand on the floor and not on the seat.

“You are an adult. You are in charge of him. You need to make sure he is safe. I need to make sure he is safe.

Ms Zissman claimed the the cabin crew member told the family that if the child didn’t sit down, they would be “fined £100 for seat cleaning”.

The seatbelt sign wasn’t on at the time, said Ms Zissman, leading the TV star to call the flight attendant a “jobsworth”.

“It is clear from the video the crew member is concerned for the safety of the child so requested that they either stand on the floor or sit on the seat. We don’t charge customers for cleaning,” an easyJet spokesperson said in a statement.

“We are sorry if the manner in which the crew member explained this caused offence.

“The safety of our passengers and crew is our highest priority.”
