Every ash cloud has a silver lining (or ten)

With British airlines losing approximately £1 million an hour, a million Brits stranded abroad and alternative travel services overrun by tourists attempting to journey home, it would be easy to look at the almost total closure of air travel in Europe, due to the eruption of Iceland's Eyjafjallajokull volcano, and the deadly plumes of ash it is spewing out, as a complete disaster.

But, as the saying goes, every cloud has a silver lining. And in this case we've pin pointed ten reasons to look on the bright side of this particularly dark and ominous looking ash cloud.
