Gap-year adventure: One cultural tour, one ski season, and one volunteering trip

Ski season, £7,495

Each week, we target three companies to ask for their best offer on a particular trip. This week, a gap-year adventure, departing at any point over the next year. All prices are per person. Flights are not included.

Culture: £2,875, Contiki

This group trip includes 40 nights' B&B in pitched tents across France, Spain and Italy, Greece, Turkey, Bulgaria, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Holland from 21 August. Ski season: £7,495, Snoworks Gap

Includes eight weeks' half-board chalet accommodation in Tignes and Courchevel from 24 October. Also included is instructor training, BASI level one and two exam courses, a first-aid course, ski passes, basic off-piste training, race training, fitness training, and transfers from Geneva to Tignes (0844 543 0503; snoworksgap.co.uk).

Volunteer: £2,985, Africa & Asia Venture

Includes 12 weeks' full-board with a local family in Kalimpong, India from 7 February. Volunteers will help with subsistence farming as well as teaching English in local schools.
