THAI LIFE

The month of May brings lower prices and fewer visitors to the Thai island of Koh Phangan, with average daily temperatures of 30C. Departing throughout the month, Tropical Sky has a week's B&B at the Santhiya Resort and Spa for £899pp, with Emirates flights from Heathrow to Bangkok via Dubai. Tucked away on the north coast, the resort has a pool and a private beach, a short boat ride away from Koh Samui. Book by 30 April (tropicalsky.co.uk).

SEAT SALE

Cathay Pacific's spring sale continues until 1 May. Valid for travel between 13 May and 6 July, return fares are available from Heathrow via Hong Kong to: Bangkok, Singapore and Bali (£859); Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City (£859); Melbourne and Sydney (£1,059/£1,069); Beijing (£749); Tokyo (£919); and more. There's also the option of departing from Manchester (bit.ly/CathaySale).

BEACH BLISS

In May, Turquoise Holidays has a week in the British Virgin Islands for £1,599pp. Based at the Biras Creek Resort, on the island of Virgin Gorda, it includes half-board meals, water taxi transfers and BA flights from Gatwick. The resort has 31 suites, with a hilltop restaurant and a beachside bar (turquoiseholidays.co.uk).

ITALIAN ISLE

For a warm spring break, consider Sicily, where Citalia has a week-long stay for £665pp. Departing on 15 May, the deal includes seven nights' half board at the four-star Hotel Ipanema, private transfers and Alitalia flights from Gatwick. The hotel is located in the gorgeous hilltop town of Taormina (citalia.com).
