Head to Amsterdam's canals as the city marks the 400th anniversary of these waterways, and take a look, too, at the Rijksmuseum (, which has just reopened following a 10-year restoration. Munich's art gallery, the Lenbachhaus (, has just reopened after an extensive renovation and the addition of a modern wing by Norman Foster.
