Travel Question of the Day: Simon Calder on the best restaurants in Lisbon
Have a travel question that needs answering? Ask our travel expert Simon Calder.

Q. Any favourite restaurants in Lisbon you'd recommend? I’m staying at the charming Palacio Vila Flor.
Roman Townsend
A. Start the day with a coffee at the old school Cafe A Brasileira, at Rua Garrett 120, where the price of an espresso (“um bica”) has recently increased to €1 - but which represents excellent value thanks to decor and waiters who appear to have been around for many decades.
For brunch or lunch at weekends (10am-4pm), my colleague Sophie Lam recommends Deli Deluxe at Avenida Infante Dom Henrique 8, “a bourgeois food emporium with a small café that spills onto a terrace”, for scrambled eggs with Serrano ham, smoked salmon or asparagus For dinner, climb to the Bairro Alto and seek out Primavera do Jeronimo at Travessa da Espera 34, a tiny tasca (tavern) with heavenly seafood, especially bacalhau (salt cod), the city's signature dish.
