Thai hotel group Dusit has high hopes for a strong recovery in Dubai's tourism market, and a new Philippe Starck-designed hotel opens in Italy. In Peru, a new luxury hotel opens on the edge of a marine park, offering private luxury yacht tours.

The first Dusit Princess hotel outside Thailand contains 120 rooms and suites, a restaurant, café, juice bar, gym, pool and sauna. Owners hope that the combination of Thai hospitality with proximity to Dubai Airport Expo Centre, Dubai Creek golf course and the Deira City Centre shopping mall will appeal to the recovering Dubai tourism market.

Design Hotels Palazzina Grassi, Venice, Italy
French designer Philippe Starck celebrated the opening of his first Italian hotel, Palazzina Grassi, on January 12. Set in the heart of Venice next to Palazzo Grassi on Canal Grande, Palazzina Grassi is housed in a 2,800 square meter 16th century building and described as "more like a private club" by operator Design Hotels. The hotel offers 26 rooms featuring wood beams, sloping roof and spectacular views of Venice.
