Travel Departures: Lyon bypass

SO successful is the French high-speed train network that it has begun to require bypasses. This week a loop around Lyon was opened, accelerating trains on the way to the Mediterranean. The 540 miles from Paris to Marseilles is now covered in just over four hours.
