Travel: Thomson tease

AM I alone in being irritated by Thomson Holidays current advertising campaign, which has a slogan that goes something like: 'If Thomson don't do it, don't do it - if they do, do.'

Apart from failing to roll off the tongue - it's hardly 'Go to work on an egg' - I don't see what it means. If Thomson Holidays do what? Thomson 'do' package holidays to a variety of resorts - is that what I should do: set up a holiday company? And what is it that Thomson Holidays 'don't' do? Spit on buses? Enjoy Eldorado? Buy Michael Bolton records? Bring peace to the Balkans?

Charles Newbold, head of Thomson Holidays, tells me that the slogan is 'teasing and intriguing'. People are talking about it, he says. Not in Bath, they're not.
