Cool Place of the Day: Longlands, Devon
Every day, a new place to discover or explore, from coolplaces.co.uk

Bella, Bugsie and the kids left London two years ago to set up their perfect glamping location, and their beautiful site, Longlands, is the result. They had some very specific requirements when searching for their ideal location: they wanted it to be conveniently close to the sea (to be able to sneak in a lunchtime surf), have breathtaking views and plenty of space to create the ultimate rural retreat.
And this delightful destination on the western border of Exmoor, five minutes from the coastal village of Combe Martin, pretty much ticks all the boxes, with five thoughtfully positioned safari tents furnished with vintage leather sofas, luxurious linen and a fully-equipped kitchen with a wood-burning stove. Each has its very own shower room (and separate en-suite), with flushing loo and basin, plus a wide range of natural aromatherapy products.
After spending a memorable day exploring North Devon and its many delights (Exmoor in one direction, and the fabulous beaches of Woolacombe and Croyde in the other), it’s a really comfy enclave to return to each night: you can cook using the ‘Longlands Larder’, stocked with hard-to-resist local produce, dine overlooking the sheltered valley and rolling hills all the way to the sea, and drift off to sleep feeling comfortably close to the sounds of nature all around.
