Travel gently through Europe? Ask the tour operator Can Be Done (0181-907 2400) about its programme of holidays in Britain and abroad for wheelchair users, or for "anybody wanting a tour at a more leisurely pace". A week in a four-star hotel in Harrogate, with half-board, excursions and transport, is pounds 600. The longest holiday, a 21-day tour of the British Isles, is priced at pounds 2,990.

Subsidise your skiing gently? Contact Victoria Pybus, editor of Working in Ski Resorts - Europe and North America: "We will pay (up to pounds 200) to skiers willing to carry out some simple research in their resort while they are on holiday." Call her at the appropriately named Vacation Work Publications on 01865 241978.

Pedal gently through France? Susi Madron's Cycling for Softies (0161- 248 8282) offers a range of holidays classed from "Super Softie" in France to "Whizz" in Italy.

Stay somewhere gentle in Paris? Check out the Hotel du Jeu de Paume, located on the Ile St-Louis in the heart of the city and recommended as the best island address in the 52-page Time Out Paris Special, free with this week's edition of the magazine.

The supplement also contains a map several degrees better than the official tourist office version.

Travel securely around the world? See the winners of the STA Travel challenge to find the ideal way to carry valuables abroad, issued to students at the Central St Martins School of Art, in the travel pages of The Long Weekend next Saturday, 22 March.
