Sir: In reply to Paul Grout's letter (8 June), in which he craves rhyme in the Daily Poem, I should like to ask him, in the words of Robert Creeley, to welcome poetry as: 'music, a playful construct of feeling, a last word and a communion.'
Please keep the Poem of the Day a doggerel-free zone.
