Sir: Will you please allow me to commend Jonathan Aitken's determination to fight the media with the "Bright sword of truth" ("Aitken sues over `wicked lies' ", 11 April) and all the panoply of a knight of old - provided, of course, that he, like the knights of old, supplies his own armour and does not expect we taxpayers to equip him for the fray?
