I HEARTILY agree with the woman who wants Dior's perfume, Poison, banned ('The answer is a melon', 18 April).
It is bad enough to be waiting at the food counter behind a woman drenched in Obsession at nine in the morning, but it is infinitely worse to find her sitting next to you at the theatre. The choice is to spend a thoroughly miserable evening, or to leave.
Smoking is, quite rightly, banned in theatre auditoriums. Is it not time that this ban was extended to perfumes?
