Letter: Classic appeal

IN A piece on Jose Cura, Anna Picard claims, "Classical music took longer than most industries to acknowledge the pulling power of pheromones" ("And he's not a bad singer", Culture, 5 September). The industry that was Herbert von Karajan found - and exploited - as much sex in a flick of his fringe as the rock'n'roll industry ever did in Elvis's pelvis.
