Guitar goddesses?

Sir: Glenda Cooper's article "Why rock chicks are no longer under the thumb of any guy" (9 May) skirts round one issue. Whilst I do not doubt the singing prowess of the fairer sex, why do they always have blokes playing the instruments?

When are we going to see the female equivalent of Jimi Hendrix or Johnny Marr? Perhaps she is out there somewhere ready to wow us all, if only she could bring herself to cut her fingernails.
