Letter: If you don't like it, someone else will

Sir: May I suggest a solution for those Independent readers who are embarrassed by the inappropriate (and sometimes truly hideous) garments given to them as presents this Christmas, as Imogen Edwards-Jones reports today? Rather than take them back to the place of purchase, pop them along to the local Oxfam or any other charity shop. Someone else will be delighted to buy that oversized nightdress or painfully small skirt, and the cash will be helping a good cause.

Yours sincerely,

DAVID JONES
