Sir: All of Britain's leading political parties are claiming that the OECD report on jobs provides endorsement of their particular policies. But why is anyone fighting to be associated with proposals for greater 'labour market flexibility', which in Britain over the past 15 years has facilitated the loss of three million full-time paid jobs, and offers the prospect for many young, even qualified, people of little better than part- time shifts in fast-food outlets?

Yours faithfully,

PHIL MURPHY
