Letter: Serious messages in Benetton ads

Sir: I find the 'Shetland' Benetton advertisement challenging and inspiring in the way it pushes the boundaries of advertising, a sterile and vacuous profession at the best of times. What I do find offensive is that charities such as Greenpeace and the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds are using the issue as a cynical recruitment campaign. Are they being any less exploitative?
