Sir: Steve Chapman (Letters, 10 February) is not alone in objecting to paying involuntarily to promote more road-building. The Environmental Transport Association (ETA), which is based in Weybridge, was established to serve just such people as him: those who need a reliable breakdown service, yet wish to see less road building within an environmentally sound transport policy. He can join the 10,000 others who have voted in this way since the ETA was launched in 1990.
Yours faithfully,
