As a regular contestant in crossword competitions in Saturday's Independent and the Independent on Sunday, it was a delightful surprise to win prizes from both newspapers on two successive days on the weekend of my 65th birthday. The odds against such a coincidence must be immense, but it is certainly a very welcome introduction to the Third Age!
