SO Deborah Jackson likes to sleep with her baby in the same bed - good (``The family that sleeps together'', Sunday Review, 27 November). She suggests from inconclusive evidence that this reduces the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.

There are far too many amateurs proselytising their own views to insecure mothers.

Lying a baby face down was not traditional in this country, but a trend started in the 1970s with insufficient evidence to support it.
