Letter: We don't need the carrot of Heaven or the stick of Hell we need to learn to be moral We should not throw religion's morals out with its myths

Colin Tudge makes a classic mistake in assuming that there exists a set of fundamental questions which only religion can answer. Presuming that there must be a purpose to man's existence is a very human folly. The idea of being unique and valued is what religion, falsely, gives us. The revolution in thinking started by Copernicus must soon be complete. It is time to view the world with analytical rather than worshipful eyes. It will look no less beautiful for so doing.
