Ryan Giggs says criticism of Gareth Bale comes with the territory at Real Madrid

Harry Redknapp has urged Manchester United to sign Gareth Bale as he can “turn any club around”.

The Real Madrid star has endured a miserable season at the Bernabeu with Zinedine Zidane’s return likely spelling an end to his time at the club. Bale was an unused substitute in the 2-0 defeat to Real Betis and was seen laughing on the bench.

Despite having three more years on his contract the 29-year-old could be forced out this summer and Redknapp believes Ole Gunnar Solskjaer should be pushing to bring Bale back to the Premier League.

“Whoever signs him will be signing a fantastic player,” Redknapp told the Mail.

“Any club he can go to he can make a difference – he can turn any club around.

“He would be a great signing for anyone – Man United could do with Gareth Bale.

“There’s not a club in the country where he wouldn’t make a massive impact. I think he’s an incredible talent.

“Anybody who gets Gareth Bale is going to lift them. If it’s Spurs, Man United, whoever it is, it would be an amazing signing for them.”

Bale will now recharge for next season, with Los Blancos beginning pre-season on July 21 against Bayern Munich in Houston.
