Fast and Furious 8: Straight Outta Compton’s F. Gary Gray in talks to direct Vin Diesel starring sequel
Diesel has all but confirmed the news by posting a photo of himself and the director on Facebook
Vin Diesel teased last month that a trilogy of Fast and Furious films are on the way, posting on Facebook how Universal were trusting in his vision for the franchise's future. He also noted that he had yet to find a suitable director for the next instalment but that issue has reportedly been resloved.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Straight Outta Compton’s F. Gary Gray has entered into discussions to direct the film.
A Facebook post by Diesel, a picture of himself and Gray sitting in front of numerous Fast and Furious photos, has all but officailly confirmed the news.

The search for a director has been ongoing since Furious 7 James Wan turned down the gig.
The ongoing search was made public when Diesel plugged himself and Rob Cohen - the original Fast and Furious director - as candidates.
The pair have previously worked together on the 2003 film A Man Apart, in which Diesel plays an ex-criminal turned DEA agent seeking revenge for his wife’s murder. It was critically panned on release.
Furious 8 was announced by Diesel back in April, the actor saying: "We're going to make the best movie you've ever seen.”
