Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2. trailer certified by BBFC, presumably will play with Doctor Strange

Doctor Strange hits UK cinemas 25 October - though there's a chance the trailer may drop online earlier than that

Excitement for a new Marvel film is inevitably divided into two parts: excitement for the actual film, and the anticipation for future previews. It's an endless cycle, really.

And so, rumours have erupted we'll be getting our very first look at Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 alongside the cinematic release of Doctor Strange; all thanks to the revelation a trailer for the film has been officially classified by the BBFC.

The trailer - running at 1 minute and 29 seconds - won't be the very first footage debuted to audiences; a full scene from the film, showing Yondu and Rocket Raccoon escaping from a jail cell with the help of the adorable Baby Groot, was shown to audiences at San Diego Comic-Con. This was then followed by a trailer, which opened with Fleetwood Mac's "The Chain" and the Guardians attacking an inter-dimensional beast.

It also featured the debut of Kurt Russell's Ego the Living Planet, who has already been revealed to be Star-Lord's father; though it's difficult to tell how much of this footage will make it into the first teaser, or whether it may spotlight completely different moments from the film.

None of the Comic-Con footage has been released online, as director James Gunn explained the visual effects had not been finished; "it’s not something that I nor Marvel are comfortable with being out there and standing up to repeated viewings. The visual effects just aren’t finished. If I do something, I want to do it 100% correctly."

It's highly likely the teaser will debut alongside Doctor Strange's release, which hits the UK 25 October; though there's always a chance it may drop online sooner than that.
