Natives have unveiled their video for 'Stop the Rain' and we're premiering it here on The Independent today.

Set in the stunning surroundings of Morocco, the song is a clean slice of euphoric pop - check it out and let us know what you think:

Q&A with Jack Fairbrother of Natives

What are you guys listening to at the moment?

We’re loving a South African band called Beatenberg, their album 'The Hanging Gardens of Beatenberg’ is full of feel-good grooves. We’re also really into a synth-pop band from New York called Panama Wedding, I caught them live last year and fell in love with their EP ‘Infinite High’.

Lastly, we never stop listening to Vacationer ‘Relief’, I read a review which described it as ‘the ultimate chilled-out companion’ and I think that’s hit the nail on the head.

How’s your summer so far - and what do you have planned for the rest of the year?

We’ve spent most of the summer so far in our practice room working out live arrangements for our new album. It was created as a studio project and we intentionally didn’t consider the live side of things at all when we were in the studio.

We didn’t want to risk dumbing down ideas in any way - so it’s taken a little while to get things worked out for performing on tour. We did manage a quick trip to Morocco though which was amazing, we learned tons about percussion and Berber music and got to jam with loads of locals which was really cool. We’re currently figuring out getting back on tour later in the year.

What was the first gig you ever played - and what’s been the best so far?

Three of us went to school together and played in a band, I remember playing a few songs during a school assembly once - not sure if that counts?!

We were lucky enough to play a few shows in the Philippines and one in particular stands out as being particularly special... It was a headline show in a huge shopping centre in Manila and I remember being terrified that we were going to walk out and there would be no one there to watch us but it turned out to be incredible, the show was packed and the crowd were amazing.

I remember feeling so grateful on stage that this was happening to our band on the other side of the planet.
