Ellie Goulding was forced to plead with music fans to stop fighting after scuffles broke out during her set at a music festival in Glasgow.

The singer told fans to “look out for each other” and pleaded for peace after the crowd became too rowdy at the city’s Summer Sessions event in Bellahouston Park on Sunday.

Footage posted online appears to show women fighting during her performance of “Starry Eyed”. In one clip, a woman is seen being pulled by her hair along the ground. She is later hit and kicked by several others.

Goulding was cheered by onlookers when she told the crowd: “Will you guys look out for each other? If anyone falls down you help if it's your friend or not.

“No fighting. Come on. Peace. No fighting. There's no need for it. Look out for each other ok.”

Around 35,000 people were at Sunday's event to see headliner DJ Calvin Harris with support from Goulding and John Newman.

Saturday's line-up featured Scottish singer Paolo Nutini, Grace Jones and The View.

Police Scotland said a total of 38 arrests were made over the weekend for minor offences.
