MTV EMAs 2014: Winners list in full from One Direction to Ariana Grande

One Direction won three awards at the ceremony in Glasgow on Sunday night

One Direction were the big winners at the MTV European Awards in Glasgow last night.

The British pop group took home three awards for Best Pop Act, Best Live Act and Biggest Fans - unsurprisingly given the famed dedication of the 'Directioners'.

One Direction were not present to collect their trophies, however, after choosing to perform on The X Factor results show on Sunday instead.

Ariana Grande, Katy Perry and 5 Seconds of Summer won two awards each, while host Nicki Minaj picked up the prize for Best Hip-Hop Act.

Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne was presented with the Global Icon award by Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash, who later took to the stage for a rendition of Ozzy's "Crazy Train".

Calvin Harris was sadly unable to perform after suffering from "heart problems" that forced him to cancel his appearance.
