One Direction have released the music video for “Night Changes”, the second single from their new album Four.

The four-minute clip shows the five band members, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan go all soppy and romantic on us, much to the anticipated delight of their devoted fanbase (a.k.a the Directioners).

The viewer becomes the pop group’s love interest in the video as they all attempt to woo us with different wintery dates.

Zayn is first up, seen in a posh restaurant toasting the camera with red wine and sharing spaghetti Lady and the Tramp style, before Liam takes his invisible crush to a fairground and wins her a teddy bear.

Louis takes his lover for a spin in a classic car while Harry hits the ice rink. Niall keeps things homely with a cosy night in playing Monopoly by the fire.

Sadly, these nights of passion soon take a turn for the worst – Zayn gets water poured over his head presumably by an angry love rival, Harry tries a skating trick with his girl and ends up in an ambulance, Liam is sick in her hat after his dodgems ride, Louis is pulled over by the police and poor Niall sets fire to his favourite Christmas jumper.

1D’s message? “Even when the night changes it will never change baby, it will never change me and you”. Well, it is nearly Christmas after all.
