Game of Thrones season 6: First image of an older Bran Stark

Never has a show's hair been analysed so much

Bran Stark is clearly going to be a big feature of Game of Thrones season 6. Firstly he was chosen as the visual to accompany the words of the Three-Eyed Raven in the first teaser trailer, and now he is the subject of the first official image.

After taking a fallow season in 5, the young Stark is back and looks a little older, noticeably having lost his Jon Snow-esque long hair.

He is expected to hone his Warg skills in the new season, and might even be instrumental in his resurrection his aforementioned half-brother.

There isn’t a huge amount to glean from this photo, though fans are already speculating that Bran being out in the open on horseback means he has completed whatever training he was undergoing at the Weirwood tree, or will do over the course of the season.

Having been screwed over time and time again, it looks as though the Starks are set to get their own back in April (spoilers ahead). Judging by leaked plot info and set photos, Jon Snow will return from the dead to fight Ramsay Bolton, possibly rescuing his sister Sansa Stark in the process, and Arya will become a fully-fledged assassin.

You can expect a first proper trailer in January.

Game of Thrones season 6 will arrive on HBO and Sky Atlantic in April.
