If you thought Peter Dinklage couldn’t get much cooler, think again, because he’s just joined forces with Coldplay to make a Game of Thrones musical.

No this isn’t a very late April Fools’ joke, the actor will take part in one of the British band’s most important projects to date for the US’ first Red Nose Day comedy event.

The first glimpse of the video dropped on YouTube last night for fans to enjoy, before the whole thing is revealed in all its glory on 21 May.

Dinklage plays witty dwarf Tyrion Lannister in the hit HBO fantasy drama, and the musical sees him boasting about his staying power, having survived from season one all the way to the show’s current fifth run.

The 45-year-old croons his way through a tune about all the characters that have faced the chop while he’s alive and kicking, from Ned Stark (“a lot of fun, but didn’t make it past season one”) to Robert Baratheon (“part of that crew, but never made it to season two”).

“Baby you know I’m the man for all seasons/ Characters get cut for various reasons/ Some people’s parts just ain’t very long/ But not me, I’m still going strong!” the lyrics continue, as Dinklage shows off his smooth baritone vocals, backed by some female singers and musicians.

It’s going to be ever so slightly awkward now if George RR Martin and the Game of Thrones showrunners give old Tyrion the axe, unless of course he’s in on something we aren’t?
