Meet the new Love Islanders 2018

Everyone’s favourite reality TV show Love Island is back, with the new series airing on ITV2.

One dramatic episode in and there's already people being 'muggy', 'salty' and 'extra', just some of the unique words you can expect to hear.

Here's everything you need to know about what went on in episode one.

Need a reminder of who’s heading to the luxury villa in Majorca, Spain? Then flick through the gallery below, which holds snippets of information on each of the eleven tanned, toned, and tattooed contestants.

This year’s Love Island will be the longest season of the show so far, this year’s 150,000 applicants being told they would need to be available for a minimum of ten weeks for the series.

Caroline Flack – who will once again be hosting – previously said this series will be the “longest yet”. Ian Sterling will also be returning as the voice of Love Island.

Some other tidbits of information: while unconfirmed, the contestants (many of whom leave their jobs or take extensive leave to be on the show) get paid a rumoured £200 a week for participating.

ITV2’s popular spin-off show Aftersun also returns this year, while the channel has also launched a podcast series named The Morning After.

An update on how much everyone on Love Island gets paid. According to a new report, they make as little as £2.80 an hour for their time on the show. However, don't feel too sorry for them, as lucrative deals after airing more than make up for the below-minimum wage pay.
