Hold on to your hats because this may come as a surprise - EastEnders' Shrimpy was in Harry Potter.

If that revelation means nothing to you, you've clearly stumbled onto the wrong article - otherwise, you're probably in a current state of shock.

Everybody's favourite EastEnders extra Shrimpy joined the show back in April 2014 and has featured heavily as a background market salesman ever since (unsurprisingly selling men's hats). His ensuing rise in popularity has even seen him integrated into plots.

During a recent rewatch of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2, Digital Spy noticed how, in the epilogue, a certain background extra possessed a similar mod haircut to Shrimpy. Upon closer look, they realised it was the man himself, actor Ben Champniss.

Turns out Champniss is a bit of an extra expert; his profile states that he also played a Death Eater and appeared as Daniel Radcliffe's body double in the franchise.

His first speaking part on TV was alongside James Corden and Mathew Bayton in BBC2 comedy The Wrong Mans. His list of credits also includes Doctor Who dramatisation An Adventure in Space and Time in which he operated a Dalek.

Move over Winston and Jonathan Ross' mum; there's a new 'market salesman extra' king in town.
